Before you know it you’re dead says my Sun

by Gale Acuff

-day School teacher, who should know because she’s
25 which is closer by figures
to death than my 10 unless of course I
have an accident and die younger than
she does so I asked her how old I’ll be
when I’m dead, exactly, or will I freeze
so to speak at the age when I’m croaked, but
she said she wasn’t sure, I’ll discover
when it actually happens to me,
death that is, so I interrupted with
or I happen to it, which made her smile
but then she started to cry and that turned
into weeping, which is what crying is
in the Bible, and righteously. Goodness.
