Categories We Accept:
- Short Story (up to 3,000 words)
- Flash Fiction (up to 3 pieces, each 1,000 words)
- Poetry (3-5 Poems)
- Screenplays (10-minute play)
- Creative Nonfiction (up to 3,000 words)
- Nonfiction Essays (up to 3,000 words)
- Graphic Design (up to 3 designs)
- Visual Art (up to 3 pieces)
Submission Guidelines:
To submit, email submissions to thecandidrvw@gmail.com with the subject line “Last Name_First Name [Category] Submission”. For writing, submit them through a word processor. For art and design, submit them as PDFs. Include a third-person bio in the body of the email as well.
We accept simultaneous submissions, but you must notify us if your piece gets accepted elsewhere. You may only submit once during each reading period, but you may submit to multiple categories during a reading period. Regardless of whether you’ve submitted to The Candid Review in the past or been published by us, you are welcome to submit to us again.
We hope to respond to each submission 30 days after submission. If you do not hear from us, feel free to reach out.
